COVID-19 Update

CORONAVIRUS UPDATED 26th April 2021

Thornton in line with government covid guidelines is open for fly fishing

To ensure we comply with social distancing & government guidelines I have produced new operating guidelines for everyone to follow which are highlighted below.

I would ask during these difficult times & to ensure we keep within the COVID-19 guidelines which could change at any time, you comply with any daily instructions issued by fishery staff

Staff on the pontoon regularly disinfect all touching points with all boats & lifejackets disinfected after every session.

The Fishing Lodge & Shop is open, staff & customers are required to wear face coverings within the shop/lodge area and maintain current social distancing guidelines. Counters along with booking in & out areas are regularly disinfected.

To ensure queues don’t form within the lodge we will continue to ask anglers to pre-book and pre-pay for their fishing, your permit & receipt will be on the day of your visit ready for you to pick up off the white marker board in front of the booking in & out sheet.

Hand sanitiser is provided in this area and within the lodge, shop.

New Operating Procedure While Visiting Thornton Trout Fishery

1.Pre-Booking: All Bank & Boat anglers, including season permit holders, will be required to call the lodge & pre-book your visit. We will only accept anglers who have pre-booked.

2.Pre-payment will be required at your time of booking.

3.Pre-payment can be made via credit/debit card.

4.Confirmation of your Boat Booking along with your receipt, allocated boat number will be posted next to the Booking In – Booking Out sheet located at the lodge door. No access into the lodge & shop

6.You will be required to meet social distancing rules whilst your at the fishery, this includes the pontoon, lodge/shop & car park & using the one-way system around the lodge & toilets, Wear face coverings as recommended within government guidelines.

Boats:

Two adults only per boat.

Or two adults & a junior from the same household or support bubble.

We recommend you follow the Angling trust guidelines, the guidelines recommend you wear a face-covering when the boat is under power, bring sanitizer to clean your hands as require

You must leave the pontoon as soon as you can, you will not be allowed to sit in your boat next to the pontoon to set up your tackle or to break it down on your return. To allow ample room on the pontoon we are only operating 14 boats.

Observe 2m social distancing rules at all times.

Severn Trent Toilets are open for the anglers to use.
