Thornton weekly update week ending 09/09/12

It was great to feel a bit of sun on your back last week after all the wet weather, but we paid a price with the glorious weather not helping the fishing.

Last week 132 rods caught 169 trout for 1.3 rod average. During the early part of the week sinking lines & booby was the most productive method as anglers went after the trout in the cooler deeper water in front of the main dam & orange buoy area.

Some anglers who did persevere with buzzers & nymph did catch John Spick & M Curtis caught 8 for their mornings visit, Keith Cowen caught 3 on buzzers before the bright conditions forced him onto the booby to catch a further 6 trout, M Pepper & John Smith caught 12 on buzzers from Green Bay the key to catching on buzzers or nymphs was to fish them as slow as possible or even static.

Lines that worked this week were floaters, intermediate & fast sinkers with booby, damsel, diawl bach & buzzers.

Our water level remains full with our clarity good.
