Thornton is open for fly fishing

From September 24th it will be mandatory for customers & staff  to wear a face covering within the shop

Face coverings can be a Mask, Buff, Scarf, Face Shield it needs to cover your mouth and nose

To ensure we comply with social distancing & government guidelines I have produced new operating guidelines for everyone to follow which are highlighted below.

I would ask during these difficult times & to ensure we keep within the COVID-19 guidelines which could change at any time, you comply with any daily instructions issued by fishery staff

Staff working the pontoon will be wearing Face Covering with all touching points on the pontoon regularly disinfected. All boats & lifejackets will be disinfected after every session.

Staff working the lodge will be wearing Face Covering, we have installed a Perspex screen at the counter, staff will observe social distancing rules, 1m+ within the lodge

 All customers & Staff  accessing the lodge will use the hand sanitiser located at the lodge door

 Doors, desks, counters, credit card machine & general touching points at the lodge will be disinfected during the day.

New Operating Procedure While Visiting Thornton Trout Fishery

1.Pre-Booking: All Bank & Boat anglers, including season permit holders will be required to call the lodge & pre book your visit. We will only accept anglers who have pre-booked

2.Pre-payment will be required at your time of booking. This will reduce queuing at the lodge

3.Pre-payment can be made via credit / debit card.

4.Confirmation of your Boat Booking along with your receipt, allocated boat number will be posted next to the Booking In – Booking Out sheet

6.You will be required to meet social distancing rules

Lodge, Booking In & Out, & Tackle shop are open: Observe Social Distancing at the car park & lodge area

  •          Shop Guidelines
    • Face coverings to be worn in the shop, these can be a Buff, scarf, mask etc
    • From 24th July with a Perspex screen at the counter & from September 24th with staff & customers wearing a face covering we will be 1m+ social distancing within the lodge / shop. If your exempt from wearing a face covering please make the staff aware.
    • Everyone entering the shop will use the hand sanitiser provided
    • Credit or Debit card payment for purchases preferred
    • Staff working the lodges / shop will be wearing a face covering when dealing with customers

Boats:

Two anglers can fish from the same boat we recommend you follow the Angling trust guidelines, the guidelines recommend you wear a face covering when the boat is under power, bring sanitizer to clean your hands as require

Severn Trent Toilets are open for the anglers to use, ask at the lodge for access.
