Thornton Fishing Report w/e Sunday 11th October 2015
last week 91 rods caught 134 fish, returning 56 for weekly rod av of
1.5.
first half of week fished better with rod av of about 2.5
some good fish coming out as follows
Mr Cattell on Mon 5th rainbow of 5.5lb
Mr Peggy on 7th took rainbows of 4.25 and 3.5 in his am visit
Andre Russel took fish of 5 and 4.25 amongst a catch of 4 caught float
tubing on Friday.
thornton fly fishers single fly match on Sunday won by Richard dayman
with 4 fish on the nominated cats whisker with best fish of 3 lb 10.
Second was M Barnes with 3 fish best 2lb 12.
fish starting to feed on the shoals of fry with best areas being dam
wall, main car park green bay and main basin near entrance to Markfield
arm.
best flies being fry patterns including minkies, cats whiskers,
humungus and snakes. Still seeing buzzer hatches on warmer days so small
black buzzers diawl Bach etc worth trying
waters temp nowith steady at about 13 degrees

pm boats 13.00 till 18.30
all anglers off site by 18.45
