Thornton Weekly update week ending 05/05/2013

Great weather at last our water temperature this morning is 12 degrees ideal for surface sport and with our buzzer hatches improving day by day we are at last enjoying consistent sport.

Last week 155 rods caught 691 trout for rod average 4.5

Damsel, buzzer and diawl bach were the top patterns this week fished on a floating line, intermediate or midge tip with the wood bank, farm bank and green bay all producing.

Steve Warner fished from his float tube and recorded a 6lb rainbow, D Skudder caught a 5lb4oz rainbow, G. Jones 5lb rainbow with Norma Prime also recording a5lb rainbow

Water clarity is excellent with our water temperature at 12 degrees we should during this coming week see an evening rise

Our last 4 hour permit  £10.00 1 fish kill+ catch & release with boat for £4.00 offers excellent value to fish the evening rise.
