Thornton fishing report week ending 05/08/2012

Posted by & filed under Reports.

Our water level is at normal level once again with clarity described as good.

Last week 95 rods caught 171 trout for a rod average of 1.8 with the morning producing best results for most of the week.

Saturday & Sunday evening gave us the best evening rise of the season so far (it been a long time coming) with plenty of trout moving from the corner of the wood out to the orange buoy & back towards the boat pontoon.

Floating lines with buzzer, diawl bach & damsel patterns have produced best although a few more trout are being taken on dry daddy patterns. Unsurprisingly and with the amount of daphnia in the water the orange blob continues as it has every week this season featured in the returns.

Dave Rossin caught a rainbow 4lb12oz, Martin Vernon caught trout of 3lb4oz & 3lb5oz, Len Dobson 3lb, Keith Coley 4lb, Mat Vickers 3lb, M. Glover 3lb, David Price & Neil James 3lb & John Bebbington 3lb8oz.

With the evening starting to draw in please take note of the fishery opening and closing times.
