Thornton fishing report week ending 24/06/2012

Posted by & filed under Reports.

Great average size coming out of Thornton this past fortnight with anglers committing on the quality, most of the fish coming to the scales have weighed between 2lb – 4lb

Morning session is still producing best as our late evening buzzer hatches continue to be well below what we would expect during a normal year.

Yet more rain this past week but our water clarity remains good to excellent and unsurprising considering the cooler temperatures.

Floating and intermediate lines with damsel, orange fritz & buzzer have caught best with the Markfield arm, corner of the wood and farm bank producing best although in a northerly or westerly wind the car park area has produced some excellent catches

Terry Barton fished a morning session fishing buzzers on a washing line to catch 9, Tony Lorrimer caught 21 for his day while Dave Pacey recorded 16, Keith Coley and John Bebbington recorded 22, Gordon Porter fished a morning session catching 7 on a corixa pattern and blob while Mark Sturgess caught 12 to 5lb8oz, Richard Dayman caught 6 trout for a total bag weight of 17lb5oz.

Morning session has fished best during last week.
